📚Franklin Elementary Book Fair is just days away! 📚
Our Book Fair will start on Monday of next week!
-Students will be able to shop during their regular library encore time.
-Families will be able to shop after school on Wednesday until 4:30, and on Thursday before & after the Kindergarten concert.
The fair encourages students to read AND raises much-needed funds for our school. An easy way for kids to pay is with an eWallet. Create one for your child so they can shop cash free and independently! Visit our school homepage to get started:

Youth League Baseball Signups - March 1st - March 20th 2026
Grades: 1st - 6th
PRACTICES - Will begin the second week of April and take place at our local school fields and playgrounds, Cape Parks and Rec facilities and our Indoor facility. They will occur 1-3 times per week for no more than an hour and a half at a time.
GAMES - Will begin the week of April 27th and run through mid June barring weather delays. Those games will be played at Cape Parks and Recreation fields at Arena Park and Shawnee Park. Each team will play 10 games and a playoff.
CONTACT - Coaches for your teams will make contact with you the first week of April to inform you of practice times and locations.

PRACTICES - Will begin on March 16th from 5:00pm - 6:45pm and take place every Monday and Wednesday on the track at Terry W. Kitchen Central Junior High School. Once you have registered you can plan on attending practices starting on the 16th.
MEETS - A meet schedule will be provided once practices begin. They will take place on some Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the season.

CGPS is hosting free developmental screenings for children ages six months to 34 months on February 20th and April 10th. Screenings help parents understand if their child is developing within the normal range for his/her age. To attend a screening, please click here to fill out a screening form.

Important CGPS Update - School is closed on Thursday, January 29, 2026. The side roads are still too icy and dangerous for the buses. Thursday will be a traditional snow day for students and staff. Even though our school district remains closed on Thursday, we want to take a moment to say thank you to our maintenance team. They have been working hard in the cold to clear the snow from our school sidewalks and parking lots. Please thank them when you see them after school opens again!
All of our schools will remain closed on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. There are many side roads that are still too dangerous for buses. Wednesday will be a traditional snow day for students and staff. We are thankful for your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our school family.
